The RE960 is actually rated pretty low in its class now (placed 12th out of 15 tires). The Falken ZE-912 dominated the rankings, try them.

what if your building was attacked by an immature punk and 7 cars each had 1 tire stabbed each, and now you have 3 good RE950s...? Are they still high quality and all the rest got better or what?
I'd like to give advice for the new owner for buying a new pair that would work well with existing 950s that probably have less than 6K on them (because of Europe). Sold car on two different pairs of tires.
sometimes tire shops have used tires in good shape out back they can give you cheap. I did that with my old Toyos - ran over a nail, got it replaced for free with an extra one they had lying around out back. was in better shape than my old one too.

950's and 960's are actually really different, performance wise. For something close to the 950, I'd say BFG Traction T/A.

Mmmm hmm. I got some Dunlop FM901 for like $100 per with less than 500 miles on them. Customer kept changing tires because of "road noise". Turned out to be the ball joints IIRC. If you're cool to em, they'll hook you up.

AMAZING tires. I have to force these things to step out, unless I'm autocrossing, at which point I have to spray them down after a few runs. They get a little melty and don't like to hold on when the pavement gets above 120.
I have falken ziex 912's on my weaves and on my dads new camry. So far they have been great tires that you cant beat for the money. I got all 4 of mine for 112 dollars shipped to me when discounttiredirect was having their big sale. I am looking to upgrade to 615's on 16's soon.
This might be a little premature, as I still don't have an e30, but I do plan on purchasing sumyungguy's this Saturday.
Anyway, the tires are pretty bald and are going to need replacing pretty much immediately. I can't exactly rank all the different factors in order, but I can try to describe what I want the best I can. The car will be daily driven, and likely will never see autocross or the track. As such, both ride and road noise must be at least decent for me to consider the tire. Snow performance is irrelevant, and wet traction must be acceptable enough to occasional drive in the rain, but it doesn't rain too much where I live so it's not really a priority. I'd like for dry traction and feel to be as good as possible given my previous statements, although I don't want to spend too much either.
I suppose what I'm looking for is a "jack of all trades" kind of tire, but keep in mind that it probably won't be driven too hard so performance should be rated on daily driver standards if you know what I mean. BTW, this would be on stock 14" weaves. Any suggestions?
Edit: I did a bit of research and it seems like the Falken ZE-912 or Yokohama H4S are well liked and may suit my needs. Are the Yokohamas worth an extra $50?
Also, Would it be best for me to run 195/65/14's or something else?
Need some autox tires for my stock BMW 14x5.5 steelies. Right now for autox I'm running my old Scirocco tires on the steelies (195-55-14 Dunlop SP 8000s) but they are seriously short.
Thinking of picking up some 195-60-14 Azenis. Still short but should help gearing over stock diameter...M42 not terribly torquey exiting slow corners. Does this sound like a plan?
I have Ziex 912s 205-55-15 on my Tirerack Sport Edition alloys. Very nice street tire.

The 912 is actually rated higher (it's literally the best all-season tire out there).
