    E30 M3 style 5's tire size.

I've recently picked up a set of 2piece style 5's. I would like to run them on my e30m3. I was interested in what you guys run for a tire size. I don't like the "strech'd" look so I would like to keep away from that. If some people would like to Post some Pictures with tire size, That would be great so
I could visualize the fitment. Thanks.

Brand of tire makes all the difference. Some tires like Toyo, Yoko, federal tend to run wide so a 215/40 looks more like a 235. You want either a large 215/40 or small/true 235/40. I once ran 235/40 yoko avs and they looked like balloons compared to my Bridgestone Potenza's of the same size. I suggest doing the research online and looking at pics. Some claim 215/40 on an 8" is stretched but it really isn't especially if you are running a wide brand tire. In fact, 215/40 (slightly undersized) is closer to the original diameter of the stock wheels than 235/40 which is slightly oversized.

I have 225/45R17 Continentals on my fronts and they are perfectly square. Same tires on my 9j rears were slightly stretched. I think I'm gonna do 215/40 next year for moar low and because with the rear offset I run I still rub with the 225s.

Here is an example of a Nitto 215 40 on an RC090. Theyre stretched a bit, Im not a fan of the stretched look either. Once I go through these Ill install my 245 35's on the rears (I bought a pair a while back), probably will stay 215 40 up front as I dont have the greater M3 fender clearance to make a wider tire work out.

215/40/17. Had a wide set of 235s and had rubbing issues. They were heavy too...car felt snappier with the 215s FWIW.

hey do you own the white stock e30m3 in Albany? I've seen that car a few times close to the Linn fairground.

I run 225/45's. Probably could go up to a 235/245 but I like the look of the size I have
