16x8 +20 with 245/45 fit in rear with roll and slight pull? I'm going to be in the same boat trying to find a wide tire/wheel combo without getting flares.

Are you planning on running a flare?

I'll try and get some better shots when it is light, i dug these out of my project thread.

My setup is staggered so the two tires on the left are 245/45/16 on 9 inch wheels.

Ignore the massive gouge in the shoulder of the tire.

My main concern was with rim width vs tread with.

I want to run the widest tire possible, as the car will be fighting for traction either way. Thus, running a 16x9 would 'in theory' allow me to run a 255 without the tire being 'lazy', so to speak. I'm not terribly concerned about the gearing difference at the moment, as I still don't have a definite rear ratio picked out.

The tread width of the 255/50 is .6" greater than that of the 245/45, however, the 255/50 is comparable to a 26" slick, while the 245/45 is closer to a 24".

If I only had the option of an 8" wheel, than the 255/50 would be completely out of the question compared to the 245/45, however, I'm wondering if the hint of stretch of the 255/50 on the 16x9 would make it respond similar to that of a 245/45 on an 8" wheel, thus allowing me to keep response while gaining tread width.

Do you have any pictures of the 245/45 on the 16x9 by chance?

The plan for the track car is to run R888s in 255/50r16 without flares.

Anyone have any ideas on offset for a 16x8 or 16x9 wheel?

I run 225s now but these were fun. 235/50R15 on 949 6uL 15x7.5, ET35 I think. 3mm spacer up front, trimmed flares/fender roll out back.

measuring the actual tire they were more like 245-250mm wide. no love for 195s over a 10" wheel here..
