Color matched wheels?

What is the general concencus on color matched wheels, with polished lips? I'm just trying to plan ahead, but if all goes as planned, I'm thinking a Calypso E30 w/ either Schmidt Modern line multipeice or Keskin KT1. I definately want to paint the wheel centers some color, the question is either a black/dark grey, or color match it with Calypso. Do you guys think this is ricey, or a tasteful "euro" mod? Any ideas what it would cost (assuming it's powdercoated)?

I personally don't care for color matched wheels, it looks so 1994 jdm preludish. However, if your going to shell out the dough for those rims, and you have some vision as to how you want it to look, then who cares what I think? Maybe you'll change my mind about it. Everyone does black or anthracite. In fact the wheels I just ordered are flat-black. You might as well try something different. If it looks like ass, get them soda blasted and refinished before you take the photo that you post here.

it really depends on the color for me, but like cthulu said, its your car, do what you want.

only time i thnk color matching is alright is on a black car, other than that maybe a silver car

I like that some times but at other times I don't. It is owners preferance honestly. I was watching Unique Whips last nite and a customer had some big wheels put on his Mercedes that were painted a green color to match but the had some contrast.

I think alpine white wheels look nice b/c they are on the mtech appearance package.

Anyone else think that the unique whips store is a total scam. Customers pay all that money and the best they can do is spray-can the interior?

I saw that and pointed that out.... I dunno if they do it more than once but the one I saw was a two tone magnum that they did.

I think it looks great on calypso. hell, calypso just looks great in general!
