What is the BBS style basketweaves that came on E30's?

    Hey guys,
I'm really curious what the style of BBS wheels is on my E30. They look a lot like style 5, but I've been told they're not. I'm just curious what BBS wheel I have, that came from the factory?

This thread is useless without pictures. There were normal Basketweaves, iX weaves and Euroweaves.

They aren't BBS style 5ss, they are BMW style 5s made by BBS for BMW. BBS makes lots of factory wheels for several car companies. Even Lincolns in the 90's had BBS wheels.

1986. The 1986 Lincoln Mark VII Midnight Mark came with black/polished 15x7 Mahles. You are actually probably thinking of the Ford HPP wheel used on Crown Vics, Grand Marquis and the later Mark VIIs, they had several suppliers, none BBS.

BBS was one of many suppliers for style 5s but they also made other wheels that look similar like bbs rz or bbs rg003. RG003s are my dream e30 wheels — look basically stock plus extra light!

I'm 99% sure the wheels on my dad's 94? Lincoln Continental were made by BBS. I remember talking about it and laughing.

Ford did have some wheels "styled" by BBS but with Ford stampings, and the ones with the full center caps have caps that attach in the typical Ford fashion, not like a BBS. I think you can see it in that photo. I guess you could count that, I figured we were talking BBS as an OEM supplier.

With that said, all those 15x7 Ford mesh wheels of the period would be my go-to for any low buck project with 5x4.5/114.3, I see those things on Grand Marquis and wonder why I don't see them more on other cars, they have to be cheap. I did similar with my old Neon R/T, '86-87 Fiero GT wheels are 15x7 +20 5x100 Mahle reps made by ATS in Germany, I bought a clean set for less than I sold the stock 14" Neon alloys for.

                      Maybe you're thinking Ronals.

You really should post a picture.
