Well, bolts are what the car came with. Studs are an aftermarket upgrade, which allow you to hang the wheel on the studs (like every other non-German maker...I think). I like bolts, but it's your choice.

Where ever you buy the spacers from should either include the suitable bolts or offer them as an option.

Anyone tried to squeeze the 225/50r16 Bridgestone R11 under the rear of and 89 e30 yet. Im thinking a little over a +20 offset for the wheel.

It'd work, but with a much higher offset. Say 16x8 +30.

I've got one for you, not exactly your typical fitment question: let's say I had some 235/50R15s on some 15x9 +35 wheels. How ginormous of a spacer and how much fender work would I need to fit them with maybe 1" or so of wheel gap? I'd probably be running 2-2.5 degrees of camber up front.

25mm front spacers might just be enough. I'd go with 25mm bolt-on spacers and throw a 3-5mm on if you have to. For the rear, you should be able to get away with a 15mm but might have some rubbing issues at the top of the wheelwell to hammer out (literally). As for the fenders... pull to the required spacing! It won't be simple, as you'd guess.

Hey guys. I was hoping someone could tell me what size spacers to get. I have a 84 325e and 17x7 Racing Harts with a 38 offset and I wish to put on 225/45/17's. Im thinking a set of 10 mms or will I need 12/15's? Thanks.

Tires are over an inch too tall for your car. You need 215/40/17. As for spacers ideally you can run 15mm front 20mm rear, that would look great.

what offset do i need to clear a 15x9?

Front: +9
Rear: +20

Both are approximate and might need a mm or 2 adjustment. Collecting wide 15" information is tough as it is scarce.

i have style 10s w. 15 mm spacers will 205 55 15 rub im not sure aboot what tire i should get?

I just picked up a set of Borbet type A 16x7.5 et30 wheels. I am looking for advice on tire choice as well as spacers if needed, from what I have seen so far I think the et30 should fit. As far as tires, I would like to lean towards slightly oversized vs undersized. 215/50? Thanks in advance

I've seen guys hit the struts with those exact wheels (and other Borbets with the same specs). You'll want a small, even 3mm spacer on the front to clear them. 215/50 is fine.

205/50 should reduce the chances of you needing to fender roll to almost zero.

Lots of great choices in that size, look at the Nitto Neo-Gen or Falken ZE-912.

I just scooped up a set of Ronal LS's (15x7.5) and am thinking about running a 215/50. I know its a tad undersized on the overall diameter side but wanted to get some input. I am trying to avoid a real gumpy fit so the 225/50 option is not my top choice and the 205/55 seams a little unsightly height wise. I could also run 205/50. I would like a nice square fitting tire. Suspension in Billstien w/ H&R's. I am thinking of getting some drop hats although a friend of mine suggested having the dead coil cut off each spring and removing the pads but tires first. I need to get off these steelies. Thoughts? Thanks.

Going to pick up some 3 piece 15x6.5 et25 Hartge's.

I'm confused on if I should go 225/50/15 or 205/50/15 or if those are even right at all hah. Ideally I'd be leaning towards a tire that handles better than looks as I'm not a huge fan of stretch. Any suggestions, thanks! Also any suggestion on tires I was thinking Dunlop Direza's?

205/55 is the correct size, but 205/50 works (the speedo will just be off even more than it is). Direzza is an entire model line; the DZ101 is a poor tire, the Z1 is spectacular.

Mystikal - Looks like you are the man to consult. Here's what I'm trying to sort out:

Car - 89 325is

Suspension - 318ti rear with kmac adjustable bushings, E36 M3 front knuckes with Ground Control coil overs, camber plates.

Wheels - 17 x 8 BBS RGR Et 40

I just burned up my first set of tires with the S52 in the car. I had 215/40/17 Azenis RT615s. I wanted more tire, so I bought 235/40/17 Azenis to replace the 215s. They seem to fit on the front fine, however the rear rubs EVER so slightly on the portion of the lip that isn't rolled from the factory. How do I make these fit? I do not want to roll the fenders as I don't want to risk cracking 20 year old original paint. I don't know how much negative camber I have on the rear, but I think it is minimal. I think I could dial in more with the adjustable ecentric bushings. Should more negative camber fix this? Would my 7.5" DS2s fit better? What is the offset on those? 42 I think? I think 2mm would make it fit. machine the RGRs?
