What would be the best offset for the rear to fit the fender like the front will? They fit the rear as is, 3mm clearance on the strut but they are sunken pretty far into the body, I'd like to get the fitment symmetrical front to rear.
Thanks for taking the time to give us some answers!
Seems like my best option is to have the spacers made for the front, see how they fit in the rear, adjust it, and have the rears made. I'll pay extra for shipping, but it might be worth it.Drive it hard. Maintain it well.

1991 318I with Koni/Eibach Front and Rear. Car is fairly low, with ground to top of fender arch measuring 23 1/8 inch front and 23 3/8 inch rear. Currently i am running 15X7 rims with 35 mm offset. Front tires are 215/50 R 15 and rear tires are 225/50 R 15.
I am looking at getting used rims, also 15X7 but with 25mm offset. With the current setup on the car the rear tires are stuffed inside the fenders. Quickly looking at the numbers, with the 25 offset rims it seems like i will definitely have some rubing on the fender in the rear. However, if i moved down to a 215 or 205 tire, looks like i may be okay.

looking to see which tires would work best for my e30 325i vert
wheels are esm 16'' 7.5/9 et 20 for all four.
car is lowered fairly low, fenders NOT rolled
what I was thinking from studying different threads:
F: 205/45 R: 225/40
or
F: 205/45 R: 225/45
or
F: 205/45 R: 215/45
Don't really want to stretch tires much unless needed for clearance.
Thanks for the help!Comment

Given the same width, 5-10mm of a rear stagger makes it roughly even on a late model. 10-15 on an early car. What would be the best offset for the rear to fit the fender like the front will? 15x7 225/50/15 should clear all 4 corners without even rolling the fenders.1991 318I with Koni/Eibach Front and Rear. None of them will fit (well, with 100% clearance) without fender rolling. If you're dead-set on not rolling, 205/45 on the rear should give you enough space. If you're going to roll anyways, go for option 1.looking to see which tires would work best for my e30 325i vert

215/40/17. Shouldn't need any fender rolling unless the car is very low as well as softly sprung.Comment

Needs 20mm spacers all around to not look completely sunken in. 215/40/17 is the better size (correct diameter).Comment

215/40/17.
I want to do the same. Can I run a 235/40/17 with the appropriate fender rolling? I have a set of tires ready for these and trying not to buy another, new set if possible! Plus, I like the meatier look and I'm not into stretch and poke...Mtech2 Vert Project in Effect!

Would 18mm spacers work instead of 20mm? I had no idea that I was going to be needing spacers with the wheels I picked up. $64 for 18mm spacers with bolts, http://www.velocitymotorcars.com/bmw-wheel-spacers.html.Last edited by CosmosM3; 12-21-2010, 09:53 PM.
