90 325is stock suspension with 15 mm drop hats (photo before drop hats). Car is being repainted now.

Purchased new Ronal LS 7.5 x 15 wheels, now looking for 225/50x15 tires. Car is daily driver and with the weather here I want something that performs well in heavy rain. I checked out a local performance part shop today and they carry the Falken ZIEX 912
(All Season Performance Touring). On the Falken website they also have a ZIEX 512 (All Season Performance Tire), but I need to check back with shop to see if they can get these.

Read post recommending Falken 512. Is this the same as the ZIEX 512?

Still looking for a dealer for the BFG G-Force Sports. I thought I read that these were not as good with a lot of rain.

I got 912's for the daily driver. Very impressed so far. I'd certainly get them over the 512, and probably over the G-Force Sports.

              Wheels: 16x7 ET28 & 16x8 ET28

What would be my best bet for wheel size for
              Wheels: 16x7 ET28 & 16x8 ET28

Car is on Koni's and lowered accordingly. What would be the safest tire without rolling, etc?

              Thanks!

Would the perfect offset for a 15x8 be 17mm? It seems +20 is the norm, but most run 3-5mm spacers for Hoosiers. Getting spacers made, need to make sure I get this right!
Drive it hard. Maintain it well.

planning to buy some Azev A's 16x7.5, et20. Through a little digging in this thread I've come up with 205/50/16 for the tire size. Just want to make sure if I'm good to guy before I over night the parts from Ja-Germany.

I found some wheels i like and wanted to know what i would have to do to make them work or if even possible.

                    Car
                    1988 325i sedan. all stock

                    Wheels
17x7.5 4x100 with a backspacing of approx 150mm i think the offsets would come out to 42mm.

i am already aware that i would need hubcentric rings. need to know if i need spacers.

                    Tires are 215/45/17

                      Wheels: XXR 002 15x8 0 offset (current)

Are there any ultra high performance summer tire options apart from the Toyo T1R and the Hankook RS3 available in 225/45/15? I was originally shooting to cram 245s all around under my car's fenders, but I am unsure if the unsprung weight penalty is worth the jump to 17s to make this happen. The goal is to take the car to a couple of HPDEs and enjoy the twisty drive home after class/work.

My primary goal is maximum grip; flushness is nice but not required. I'm prepared to roll my fenders to avoid poke, though... that's my only requirement for looks. Is this possible with the tire sizes I'm looking at? Should I jump to 17s instead, and if so, do the wheels & tires I'm considering have a chance of fitting?
You can definitely fit the 17x9s, but you'll need the front offset to be +15 or lower to clear the struts (use spacers). With a LOT of camber you can then get a 235/40 on there; with stock upper strut mounts, 215/40 is about the max. On the rear keep the offset higher (+25 to 30) and run the 235/40. Should only need a minor fender roll.

Looking at some Kosei K1's I found on craigslist....16x7.5 front 16x8.5 rear. 4x100 bolt pattern. Come with tires: rear 245/45/16 and fronts are 225/45/16.

Offset not listed but they are coming off a miata.

                        What do you all think?
Make sure those weren't custom drilled by Tirerack for the Miata. If so, they will be a 54.1mm centerbore (too small) and require either boring out or custom spacers. And then there's the matter of what offset they are....

Yes, that tire size is fine. I'd personally run 205/45, as it's slightly taller and will fill the wheel wells better. You don't need spacers for the front, but it would look a lot nicer with a 10-15mm spacer to match the rear.

                            Yup, 225/45 to be specific.

For the front, yes. On the rear you don't need anything lower than +25 to clear the inside and therefore give you more fender clearance.
