Would 17x9.5 et55 (so adapters) be nuts to run as a square set up? I already have a 16x8+10R +13F set up with 205/50, was thinking that the new ones would be out another ~.8 inch or so, is that right?

Late model, lowered on GC adjusters.

Just too much wheel for the front IMO. You can tuck the rears inside the body easily with the high starting offset, but the fronts will take a lot of spacing just to get them off the struts.

I stumbled upon this thread while researching which wheels and tires to get for my newly acquired '89 E30.
It is very impressing that you have been dealing out helpful advice through all those years to E30 owners.
With 571 pages in this thread I was sure I could find the answer to my question in here, but after searching through the pages I did not seem to find a clear answer.
I want Ronal LS 15x7.5 and a meaty tire, but while the majority of the 225/50 seem to clear fine, it seems there is the odd tire in this size which rubs.
The car is lowered but I am not sure of how much.
I would like to use R888 tires, which I can get in a variety of sizes.
The most interesting sizes to me seems to be 215/50, 225/45 and 225/50, where the latter size is the more expensive.
The 225/45 seem a little undersized, so it may not be the best choice.
So the question is would a 225/50 R888 fit without rubbing, or should I go with the slightly cheaper and perhaps safer size 215/50?

Hi! Yes, I'm here and answering these questions for reasons beyond me. Nice to know I'm helping though!

The key specification for the Ronal LS is 9.2". This is the listed section width of a tire on a 7" rim (typically for most 215 or 225 tires), and is the largest that will fit without rubbing. The old Falken 512s that easily fit? 8.9". Falken 912? 9.0". Hankook R-S2? 9.2". Old-school Bridgestone S-03 that DID rub? 9.3".

I looked the 225/50 R888 up and it's a 9.1". Should just work.

Recently purchased 1991 318is
Buying some raceland coilovers when i buy my wheels.
Iv got a place to roll fenders if/when necessary. just want to know if its going to need a lot of roll or not.
I don't mind a BIT of stretch on my tires

Klutch 15x8.5 / et17 / 4x100 195/50
Klutch 16x8.0"/et15/4x100 (open to tire size suggestions).

Little to no fender rolling with either setup. You could even go 205/50 on the 15s. 205/45 will be perfect for the 16x8s.

Just bought an 89 325is for my younger brother. Ordered a set of Diamon Racing steelies for the car. 15x7 et0 in black. Car is on an adjustable coil over set up and can be played with. I want to order a thick set of rubber for these wheels without ordering radials. How big can I go? Previously had 225/50/15 on 4 lug style 5s on my vert with same suspension. Tires were too thin. Was worried I'd bend a wheel and had to slam the car to close the gap.

My mechanic has suggested going up just a little bit to 225/55/15. Just want the car to sit comfortably. He is a new driver. Want something that will protect against bent wheels and close the gap.

Any advice appreciated. Thanks in advance.

'89is h&r sports with blisteins shocks, 4x100 BBS RM 0012 15x7.5 et20 fronts and 15x8.5 et8 rears, will these fit without rolling the fenders,if so will they poke out a lot? i want a bit of aggressiveness but i dont want to look weird with my tires sticking out....help!!

Terrible offset choice for an E30. You will have to run 185 or 195s, and it will still rub sometimes. I'd suggest selling them.
