For a 17x8.5, you'll want about ET22 to safely clear the front struts. I could make it a bit closer, but since you want flush I'll be more lenient.
For a 17x9.5 in the front, ET10. In the back, up to ET26 will work.
And of course, you can get 205/40/17 on the 8.5s and a 225/35/17 on the 9.5s for a nice matching stretch, if you wanted staggered. Even if you didn't, those are good tire sizes for the wheels, being undersized they will be easier to fit.
