    got any suggestion at all?

So, I'd suggest going smaller. Or if you really want 225's, the BFG G-Force Sport is known to work and is honestly a pretty similar tire to the R-S2.
That is pretty interesting. I am running G-force sports right now only 205/55/15.

I was hoping to go with 225's and I had heard things about the RS-2's and wanted to try them out. So does one tire brands 225 width actually run that much wider than anothers?

The issue is with the strut and not the fender though? I was more worried about the fender than the strut I thought I had a fair bit of room.

Maybe I will go with G-force sports again then.

Will a set of BBS RS in 17x8 front with an offset of +7 and 17x9 rear with an offset of +19 fit an e30?

A really good 215/45/16, like the Falken RT-615. It'll give plenty of traction.

There are huge differences between both tire brands and tire models when it comes to physical sizing. For example on a 15x7.5 the Falken 512 is only 9.1" wide, while the R-S2 is closer to 9.5". That 0.4" (or 10mm) makes a huge difference in fitment. That said, the only 225's that give problems with the Ronals are the old Bridgestone S-03s and the R-S2s. Unfortunately, they are basically the two most aggressive tires made in that size.

The issue is definitely the strut. The fender will be close, but the tire will hit the front strut housing before it hits the fender with those wheels.

But elaborating, the G-Force and the R-S2 are really similar. They are both very very good in the dry, mediocre in the wet, and fairly good in all other aspects (ride, noise, etc). The difference is the R-S2 will wear out a lot faster...you start to see why I don't really love them too much (and I actually have them in 225/50/15 on my E30 right now).

That will look really hot. It'll fit with stretched tires and rolled fenders. I'd go with 215/35/17 front and 225/35/17 rear, both Falken FK-452 (great tire, and stretches over easily).

this question may be answered but I don't really want to read through 60+ pages. I'm looking at ordering some bfgoodrich super sport 215/45R17 is anyone running something that size?. I currently have 215/40R17 and my car is pretty low. fenders aren't rolled but need to be. The 215/45's are only 1.19 inches taller, so I'm guessing they will fit.

Too big. You may get away with it depending on offset, but I won't recommend them.

thanks, I'll stick with the 205/40R17, as I know they already fit
FYI: I think my offset is 20MM

If the offset is 20, then yeah a 215/45/17 is definitely too big and a 215/40/17 may require rolling depending on suspension. 205/40 is game though.

I'm looking at Rota Slipstreams from 18racing.com.

I'm thinking of getting the 16x8s with et20.

                              What tire could I run?

I'm looking for loads of grip for not so much cash.

Edit: Just noticed the post above me.

I haven't found the dimensional data for the R1R yet, but if they're like most other 225's you're looking at heavy fender rolling to fit them on those rims, especially on an 88+ car. I once tried the same on my car with unrolled fenders...it would barely roll without grinding away paint. Fun!

The alternative is the 215/45/16 RT-615, which is a proven tire that will fit a lot easier.

Danny: Same applies to you. The best bang for buck choice for those wheels is the 215/45/16 RT-615, and I frequently recommend this exact wheel/tire combo for street/autox/track setups.
