Yeah, they're wrong. 225/50/15 912s will work perfectly fine, and you won't need to roll the fenders either.

Anyways i noticed that the bbs LM come in 17x8 and wanted to know why no one has them. cos obviously if they fitted the e30 a few people would have them. Is there a way to make them fit?

      Thanks Massimo
Because they cost more than most E30s today? That said, I know of two members on this board who have them (in 4x100), but they haven't posted much about them.

than say 16x8 will require etXX tires xxxXxxXxx will require rolling, etc....

or a tleast rough guide ?

cos i see people asking the same questions all the time....
Just like how people ask the same fitment questions, another member (or several) have asked the same thing you are.

The fact is, there are way too many variables. I cannot make any sort of table that is not so vague/cautious that it becomes useless. Plus...I don't mind doing this. My charity act.

Thank you sir! Actually, neither the M3 nor the 325, it's a 318iS with ... slight modifications. A different engine, Motul shocks, IE coilovers.. I'll keep the ride height reasonable (about 25-30mm below a stock 325i with non-sport suspension) and I was planning to run RE050A PPs and/or RE01Rs. The rim as I said would be 7.5Jx17 ET25. Of course if you tell me that the RE01Rs will fit, I'll find a shotgun and shoot myself in the face, since I just sold a set or RE01Rs in 235/40-17 since I was persuaded they wouldn't fit... about 40% below replacement cost.

...uh oh. The RE-01r is actually "average" width (9.1" on a 7.5"), and probably would work (compared to the RE050A at 9.3" on a 7.5"). Sorry?

AAAAAAAARGH! Thanks for the information, that's actually very helpful, though now I get to buy the same tyres again. Maybe with RE01Rs I'll be able to use something lower than fourth gear: for some reason, 195/65-14 MXVs from 1993 on bottlecaps seem to be somewhat lacking in traction.

Hey Jay, I have a set of BBS RZ378s on the way, I believe they are the same as yours. What are your recommendations for good performing tires that will fit on the 15x7s? Not looking to spend a ton but I'm not terribly poor either. Thanks!

Okay this has probably been asked in here before but I don't imagine I'll have much luck finding it.

I need new tires for my Ronal LS' 15x7.5 et25. I was thinking 225/50/15 hankook ventus RS-2's. I am lowered about 1.25'' on the cheesy tokico suspension and my fenders are not rolled.

What do you think am I going to have any rubbing issues? Should I go smaller?

The safe bet is a 205/55/15, which definitely won't rub. In that size, a great tire for the money is the Kumho SPT, I recommend it quite a bit. Awesome all around tire.

If you want the beefy 225/50/15 look (see my pics), the only tire I'd recommend is the Falken 912. Not only is it a nice tire, but it runs 0.2" narrower than other 225s. This is enough to make a huge difference in fender clearance, trust me. Even with the 912, you may still have to very slightly roll the rear fender lips, depending on suspension.

Now the front, I can't tell you. I haven't seen many guys that run 16x9s that actually have track-oriented camber settings (or even plates in the first place), so I'm not sure if that will work.

But...the rear most likely won't. That, I do know.

This is an interesting issue right now actually. I know of two E30 owners who have tried to run that same tire on that same rim. One (who I know, and trust) had horrible rubbing issues on the front struts, and had to actually throw away the tires. The other won't give me any details, but he alluded to not having any problems.

So, I'd suggest going smaller. Or if you really want 225's, the BFG G-Force Sport is known to work and is honestly a pretty similar tire to the R-S2.
