      What would you suggest?

      Nobody makes a 225/40

      Do companies make 235/40/17?

Edit: Just looked, looks like a pretty common size.

            92 e34 touring.
            Right now stock suspension.

Looking at a set of wheels that are 16x9.5 et 32.
Will they fit? What size spacers and what size tires.

            Thanks

Hey thanks again for the vote of confidence on they wheel purchase.

I ended up getting a set of 4
              16x7 ET65 forged porsche wheels
I will be dropping the car by approx 1.5 inches via Bav auto cabrio specific springs
its an 88 vert with the low rear arches

My understanding if I DONT want stretch and i also DONT want to roll the fenders

              I would need
205/50/16 tires ( or maybe a lil wider?)
              45mm adapters front and rear

I want that nice wide muscle car look; like wide-track

I've got 2 sets of 15x7 wheels with ET27 (Kosei K1's and MSW Type 21 basketweaves). Think I'd be ok with 225/45-15's?

I think the first wheels come from a VW and the second from a BMW E21. :loco:

you have helped me out before but I got a quick question here. I have 16x7 wheels and currently running 205/50/16. I want to go 215s but was thinking of getting 215/40/16s because I can get the Yokohoma S drives in that size which get better ratings than the hancooks RS2. Would that size work or should I stay with 215/45/16 which are a little squishier?

Oh ya, and I am rolled so my current tires dont rub. H&R Race with Billys sure help.
I wouldn't recommend the S.Drive over the R-S2. Totally different classes, if you're going by Tirerack customer ratings please avoid doing it in the future. None of it is useful in any way (people have no basis of comparison).

If you want a great tire go with 215/45/16 Falken 615s. The word squishy has nothing to do with those.

A tire's individual characteristics has way more to do with traction than contact patch shape.

Save up your pennies and buy a set of 215/40/17 Dunlop Z1 Star Specs. $122ea at Tirerack. You'll never want more grip than that.

Usually 8.5" wide wheels for an E34 are down at ET13. So you're looking at massive spacers to get those to fit with the same strut clearance. Like 30mm. I'm sure you can get it closer, but I'm no pro with E34 geometry.

How about a decent tire for a 13x4.5 wheel?
