    Biggest size tire, square setup.
    215 maybe.

Once you space out the wheel enough to clear the front struts (+5 or so) they will be poking out ridiculously.

      Cool, thanks so much!

Was looking at getting 16" x 8" ET+25 wheels on my 88' 320i sedan. Was wondering if 8" would clear without rolling/modifying anything? Wasn't really interested in doing any body mods to the car.. If not, im assuming 7" shouldn't be an issue?

I am planning on purchasing some 16x8.5 wheels with an offset of 35 or 38(I can't recall exactly). I would like to run a square set up.

What size adapters would I need to have these wheels sit flush with the fenders - front and rear? I am planning on running Falken 912s 205/40/16 - to achieve a slight stretch.

They fit very aggressively on an ix, so with 205/45 tires yes.

You need 3mm front spacers to clear the front shocks, but no fender modification needed with 205/45 or 205/50 tires.

First, don't run 205/40. It's too short of a tire and you will have very little ground clearance. 195/45 is a better choice.

Get the final offsets down to +15 front and +10 rear. Should look great.

I was looking at these XXR 531's for use as autocross wheels, but was referenced to this thread for more advice.

I would like to run something in a 225 width (100 AA tread like a Toyo Proxes 888 ) and need help picking wheel width, offset, and diameter.

a 15" will keep my weight down (like in the link - 13lbs seems light enough?) but will it give me clearance for the wider rim/tire?

I've got stock configuration suspension w/ H&R springs, Koni shocks, over sized sways front/rear, M3 bushings up front. NO Coilovers.

Not much interested in pulling fenders. Looking for function. Have a visible amount of - camber in the rear (springs sagged a bit) but not much in the front. Don't intend on modifying camber unless to increase handling.

Car gets driven once or twice a year, tracked maybe once or twice a year.

Also, If i decided to do the RX7 caliper swap, how would that complicate my choices?

                    Thanks!

Can I do any wider of a tire with 20mm spacers?

Should I just get a wider wheel set? Or even a staggered set?
ok so Im about to buy tires

                      225/45/16

                      or 225/50/16

                      dropped 86 e30 325e, and i have 20mm spacers all around

                      also, any tire recommendations?

OK doing some searching, having a tough time finding 215/50 size tires but they are out there. Thinking i will need to roll the fenders anyways, could i squeeze 225/50 with enough rolling on the rear? Should prob just stil with 215 i suppose.

Also, i must not understand correctly, but wouldn't a 15mm spacer push the wheel out further, and create more issues for tire fitment with the fenders? Wheels bolt up to the car and seem to clear everything with the skinny tires

If you have an early arch car, 225/50 is possible on those wheels with a rear fender roll. On a late car, it might still rub. 225/45 would be the safe bet.

I do not know about RX7 caliper clearance.

225/45 may rub even with a fender roll. 215/45 would not. 225/50 does not fit. 205/50 has by far the best tire choices and will definitely fit.

I can suggest tires, what do you do with the car?

How did you measure the wheels? I have a hunch they are actually 6.5 & 7.5 (measure from bead to bead). If they were the widths and offsets you mentioned they would not clear the insides.

Hm by bead to bead that would be measuring the inside of the rim right?

I measured with the tires on. Used a wheel measuring tool (we use it on motorcycle wheels) and measured the outside face of the rim to the inside face of the rim (the part right below the lip).

Is that right? I measured my Dforce rims the same way and they measured 15x7

EDIT: snapped these when i test fitted the wheels, does this shed some light at all? sorry for the crapload of questions.
