General Tech 2000 is the most absurd excuse for a tire I've driven on. A friend had a set of b-caps with them--we couldn't believe these things passed the necessary tests to be street legal. We concluded that they were made on a pottery wheel in the back of a general store somewhere...

I know shitty tires and Falken is not on my list. Nankang though, made number one.

You got 1 bad tire out of thousands, nothing can be perfect. I've heard the same thing happening to every different tire made, wierd shit can happen on the road.
I've been running ziex 512's for about a year and since all I've ever driven on were all seasons, they are the best tire I've run yet. Must give a definate + on wet weather though, no more ass clinching when its raining.
That't the point; cheap tires will have a higher percentage of factory defects because, well, they're cheap. Quality control costs money and that's why better quality tires cost more. I prefer not to play those percentages, driving is hazardous enough as it is.

I have ziex's and for what they are...they're great. The compound's pretty soft but I find them predictable and easy to manage near the limit.

To those who push their cars with tires like ziex's, don't complain...they're fucking cheap. Buck up if you want real performance and durability.

Holy crap I thought I was the only one. I put 712's on my miata and the results were nightmarish. My friend put them on his e30 (against my advice) and claims they were great. By far the worst tire I have ever experienced.

In my formerly-awesomely-professional-tire-man opinion, Falkens > Kumhos 99% of the time as far as street tires go... Kumhos quality control must be a joke, some of the shit I have seen has absolutely convinced me that I would never, under any circumstances, purchase Kumhos (or Continentals, at least the Sport Contact 2) for my own car, let alone my girlfriends, parents, sisters cars... The two sets of Falkens that I have had were great compared to the one set of Kumhos I had on my car for 3 weeks, which was about 19 days longer than it took me to lose my trust in them for all eternity.

              Apex: I was running 712s, I concur.

I have had that happen once with a set of Uniroyals. I took it back to the shop they concluded that there was an internal split on the sidewall. Because it happened on the whitewall side and I had my tires flipped over, I would not have noticed the bulge.

I had the 512's when i bought my car and quickly changed them out before the end of their life.

Im running BF G-force sports now and like it 100x better

I consider my $300/set all seasons as cheap.
$550+ for a slight step up into falkens is expensive enough for me.

I would hate to be paying $800+ for tires every year

                      Kumho 711's were horrid.

Pics of your blow out. Either you ran it too low or it had an impact break. tires tend not to blow out for no reason.

Anyone have experience with Fuzion Hri tires? I know that they are a subsidiary of Bridgestone. I can get stock size (195/60-14) tires out the door for less than $160 for all four. My daughters E30 will need some tires
and for this price I can't pass them up unless I hear that they are crappy tires.

stock size is 195/65/14 fyi. I am running 195/60/14's right now though cause I am running azenis and thats the "miata" size. Falken didn't have em in 65.

and those tires sound really crappy

it costs me more money to get my balls professionally cleaned than it is to buy those tires.

they are crap. dont cheap out on tires. they are the only part of the car that actually touches the ground.
