    Wheel spacer problems

Got a new set of Alpina replica's for my E30. Had to put 8mm spacers on the fronts(H&R's). Now the wheels have a beveled center bore. Now when I put the wheels on the center bore doesnt touch the hub becouse of the spacer, so i have to rely on the bolts to center the wheel.
Now i get a vibration at about 60-65mph. If you jack the the front wheel up and spin it you can see it bounce alittle like its off center. If you loosen the lugs and only put them on hand tight the wheel is fine(no bounce).
I took the brake caliper and carrier off and put the wheel back on without the spacer and tightened it down and it spun just fine.
Now I looked at the notes for the Eiback spacers and the said for the 5mm spacers dont use with wheels with beveled center bores, with 8mm spacers where the wheels rely on the lugs to do the centering the whels must be balenced on the car to avoid vibrations.
Has anyone else had these problems with 8mm wheel spacers?

The spacers should have a lip on them. You need to get hubcentric rings to match the centerbore of the wheels to the lip of the spacers.

look for h&r spacers.... the spacers you have acquired are most likely non hubcentric garbage.

8mm spacers usually dont have the lip. Go with 10's or 12's if you can. You will be a little wider, and be able to keep the wheel centered via the hub and spacer.

5, 8, 10, and most 12mm spacers that are hubcentric to the E30 as well as a 57mm outer (i.e. for wheels that do not have oversized centerbores) DO NOT HAVE HUBCENTRIC LIPS. This is why I always advise people to stay away from them.

The 10's and 12's that I used to have when I ran 4x100 all had them. Also, the 10 and 12mm ones that I have now in 5x120 have the lips as well. All H&R.

I have never, ever seen a 10mm or 12mm 4x100 spacer than is truly hubcentric while being 57/57.1mm. Maybe I've somehow just missed them, but I've been around these boards since 1999.

                5x120, there are hubcentric 10mm and 12mm.

H&R doesn't even make a 10mm nor a 12mm spacer. In the event that your last sentence referred to the 5x120 only, which brand were the 10/12 4x100?

Well i talked to Bavarian Autosport today and are willing to take back the wheels and tires. I ll just have to wait for someting else to come along. Ithink 10mm would create a rubbing problem. So ill exchange them for a Remus exhaust seeing how the Ansa thats on there right now is starting to go after 4 years of service. Thanks for all you help guys.

Those would have worked but they are for 5mm spacers and do not work on E30 4 lug's, But thanks for the effort though.

I've also been wondering that, even went to Bavauto's site to check what reps they're selling and didn't find anything.
