Anyone tried this with Remember/BBS centercaps?

I'm not going to lie. I like the fuh raze look of wheels without centercaps on them. I've had them off of my Remembers for a few weeks now, and like the look, but the spline for the centercap nut is huge, it sticks out like 3 inches. Just for the hell of it tonight, I wondered what the caps would look like installed, but without the nut. I really like it, it almost makes them look like centerlock wheels (again, make fun of me if you want to). What do you think?

Forgive the cell phone pics, my camera batteries are dead:

I like the look, the only question now is how to get them to stay on there. I don't want to mount them that way permanently, I want them to be removable, of course, to service the wheels/brakes/etc. Opinions? Thoughts? Flames?

Looks weird, but maybe a small dab of silicone would keep them there, yet still be removable?

Yeah, I was thinking maybe double-stick foam tape? Who knows, just an idea. Just kicking things around to make things look a little different.

I would use a pair of strong magnets, one on a spare lug nut, one glued to the back of the cap.

              Just paint the caps invisible.

Why not paint the nut gold so it disappears into the backdrop a bit more? Those shiny nuts are the whole reason I got mine in silver.

looks unfinished in my opinion and you couldn't imagine the ghetto mismatching wheel setups and stuff I've ran on so I'm not picky.

I think so too, the more that I look at them. I'm actually considering cutting off that center spline altogether, and making them permanently capless. I may look at getting another nicer set of wheels next year, and using the Remembers for auto-x wheels, since they're pretty cheap and very readily available.

Wheels have center caps to cover the ugly sight of the lugs for a reason... Use a sticky BBS one.

I like some wheels with exposed lugs. I've always thought that weaves and Alpinas looked better without the caps.

Agreed, seeing Alpinsa without the caps almost pushed me to buy some.
