Free tires filled with nitrogen at costco for members

"We take tire safety to the next level with... NITROGEN Tire Inflation"

Basicly, they will inflate your tires with dry Nitrogen!

at the bottom of the flyer, it stated "In fact, we'll inflate any Costco member's tire with NITROGEN, no matter where the tires were purchased"

That link is from Bridgestone, says airplaines & big rigs have done it for years. I don't know anything about it, but free is free.

Weight savings. Don't you know nitrogen saves .0000000001g per tire!?!?!?!

"See, we're adding a little something to this month's sales contest. As you all know, first prize is a Cadillac Eldorado. Anyone wanna see second prize? Second prize is a set of steak knives. Third prize is you're fired."

My dad used nitrogen in his racecar slicks beacuse it is more stable and the pressures don't change as much as air does with temp increase/decrease.

also in pure nitrogen there is no water vapor liek i air that can corode wheels and valve stems over time...

also simce there is no water vapor it does not react to swings in temperature as much...

also the molicules are bigger than water and O2 that make up 1/3 of air.... this slows air leaks between tire in rim...

none of these changes are huge(except for the first one kinda) but in race cars every bit counts... it also is probably a marketing ploy for costco since n2 is cheep and you figure hey "if they car that much about what goes in my tires then maybe i should by all my tires there"...

so the real question is really is it worth my time to have them fill my tires up? and what happens if they get low can i just put regular air back in?

I already use a blend in my tires that's 78% nitrogen.

you know, air has been used in tires for a really long time... and properly maintained tires seem to last - so why do extra work for nitrogen? I think I'll just maintain my air tires for now. Maybe if I ever get a race car I'll use nitrogen, but thats a long way off for sure.

I use AMSair, it's 12.99 a quart. Pricy but definetly worth it. I'm becoming a registered dealer, if you want to order some through me.

Ha ha ha ha, and I used to think buying bottled water was silly.

All I can think of when I read that was that part in Spaceballs when Mel Brooks was in his office sniffing cans of "Perri-Air".

I can beat Charlie's price. I can get you the dryer (less pressure change) ArizAire for $8 a quart.
