5-speed swap help complete my list.

    hello,

just sold my e30 318i/4dr/5spd for a song and bought a 92 m50 touring with a blown automatic for super cheap. I have a few e36 manual parts at a buddies place, please school me on what else I need/what it is out of! I've tried looking through the FAQ's for some of this stuff but there are so many ways to do it.

    Have:

    e36 m50 manual trans (G250)
    e36 m50 manual clutch
    e36 m50 manual flywheel
    e36 m50 manual shifter
    e34 540 pedal assembly

As far as I know I still need:
    driveshaft
    trans crossmember
    shift console
    clutch master slave
Would like to grab an LSD too (best m50 manual ratio?)

Out of what vehicles can I get these out of to complete my swap? and Are there other things I may need/should probably pick up before tackling the work.

    TIA!
    loving the wagon life already

Op when it comes time to decide on a diff you must know that you will need a 5 speed diff. The medium case diffs are the same except for the input flange for the driveshaft.
          5 Speed ones are different!

ya according to my build sheet, I have the cold weather package with a 4:10 lsd which is gonna be whack in a manual I'll have to pick up a different one anyways.

what's the recommended ratio for these cars?

              New CSB
              New guibo

              Diff gaskets

                Here you go.

A few notes. I have tabs for the rear subframe because originally I was going to do that as well.

There is a column called "Need".
                -Red means need
-Yellow means maybe (based on evaluating the part I had)
-Green is a confirmation that I received a formally red needed part.

I replaced a lot of bolts because my wagon is a northern car. I'm also someone who does a lot of "while you're there" kind of replacement. I usually weigh wear/cost/location for if hardware is ordered new or reused. Some red parts might not be applicable to you because they broke or I considered them not good enough to reuse (i.e. shifter rod and carrier broke during the engine pull out :( )

Didn't notice you list a hardline from the clutch master to the slave.

Based on John's google doc its:

I'm glad you guys got some use out of it. There are so many little parts that should be replaced that a spreadsheet was needed.

The hard line from the master to slave seems like an unnecessarily long hard line. Mine is wrapped around one to two times before it goes into the slave cylinder.
