    E39 Interest / IJS

Hey mods. Have you ever had any interest in including E39 models in this thread? Just asking.

The E39 now is at the same age as the E34 was when it was included on this forum. 20 years old. A good condition E39 is just as hard to find as a comparable E34. There are no good forums or threads with respect to E34 or E39. It would be a good secondary market. IJS.

E28/E34s are from the same time period as the E30. they share some similar parts, engines etc. which was probably the reasoning for a subforum. E39 is way more modern and has nothing to do with e30s

All great points but there’s definitely a lot of e30 guys rocking e39 technology when it comes to swaps. Also, there’s a lot of e30 guys that daily e39’s.

Wouldn’t hurt to throw it up in the 5 series section. If there’s a demand for it, people will use it. If not, no harm done.

My daily is a 2003 530 with 255k. Runs like a James Bond getaway car. All the E39 forums I checked were kind missing something. Or maybe I'm just so used to the way R3V is formatted.

Hard to believe the e39 is the same age as the e30 was when we met :)

Well, maybe not your late model e39, but a 95 is already 23 yrs old, and your vert would have been about 18 when we used to have the meets down here. My eS was 23 or so. How time flies, huh?

Mtech was sold. I'm rocking a sterling 91 318is. My daily is an E39. The E39 forums are not imho as user friendly as R3V. Since they picked up the E34, I was thinking the E39 would be the next step.

Your finally ended up selling it? You had that car forever man! You always seemed partial to the 318's. Last I saw you you had a black 318is.

Well the e39 was pretty much the last old school BMW they made. I might pick one up because the government is forcing me!

Brussels has a low emission zone and my 1994 e34 520 (m50) won't be allowed to drive in Brussels next year! Every time I enter Brussels I would receive a 425 USD fine so I'm pretty much forced to buy a newer daily...I could change my daily route, to get on to the freeway every morning I enter the city of Brussels but well I'd probably forget within a week and rack up fines.

Soo I'll probably pick up a 530 touring or a 540 which is way more expensive to run and repair but v8!

That’s what I’m rolling on. 528i touring. Love it

I'm not 100% against it, although it does beg the question of the entire E36 and E46 line being comparable to the E39.. hell even the E38 comes into play.

That being said just having a general 5 series forum (which is what we have) could keep it limited.
