have you driven an m42 with a dual mass and an m42 with a single mass flywheel?

if you have, you'd realize that the difference between the setups are VERY noticeable. it may not increase power but it definitely breaths some life back into the car.

before i did my flywheel swap i had a markd chip installed and loved the improvement, i sold it and swapped back to a stock chip b/c i was strapped for cash. the car felt sluggish again...i decided that i couldn't take it anymore and saved up for the flywheel conversion.

i got lucky and purchased the 323i flywheel along with the TOB and 325i clutch kit. i also got me the markd chip again. after the whole setup was installed the difference was really amazing. the car just felt more peppy.

its not necessarily a matter of cost or the real weight between the two flywheels, the fact is that the car feels more peppy than it would with a dual-mass setup.

i sold this conversion not too long ago to my friend and he loves the improvement.

        280mm? Really..?

What transmission are you running? The 240mm clutch/flywheel is a tight fit in the standard bellhousing..

23-24 lbs. We ordered one at work because we wanted to check it out for future reference. Made of steel and the depth is the same as the standard dual mass. It's still a pig, but the positive is that you could shave weight from it. Cost ~$700 with the clutch kit included.

            Stock Transmission.

Ask around about the how I got scar on my right hand doing it. Try Taylor e30 (E30_fiend) or Gary (e30freak89).
