My friend had around $3k in engine work alone on his M10 turbo that was doing ~265 whp @ 12 lbs of boost. It was a 2.0 bottom end with a newer head running Mega Squirt for engine management. Turbo and engine management set him back another $1k or so.

Turbo M10 can cost a decent bit if you do it right. N/A M10 can do 150 hp and that is plenty to push around a 2100-2200 lb. car, in my opinion.

Of course, if you've got the money, the S14 is the way to go. I really need to look into that a bit more.. Mine is a tii with bumped up compression and it feels fine, but I've never driven a motor I liked more than the S14.

Why not do a built m10? IMO anything other than an m10 or s14 doesn't belong in a 2002. A turbo m10 can put out 400+ hp.

yup PROPERLY turbo the m10 and you will have the time of your life.
