My87 is at the paint shop undergoing a full respray, including shaving the engine bay. In doing so, I am debating deleting the windshield washer fluid tank, hoses, and the two black nozzles on the hood. The car will only be driven on weekends and track. It's never needed for me, thus why not eliminate the clutter and the ugly reservoir tank. My question is...those who have eliminated their windshield washer tank and system, DID YOU REMOVE AND SHAVE the hood too? Id like to see some before and after shots. Thanks

I personally would retain the function it and just hide a smaller bottle somewhere else. there is a fair bit of room under the headlight next to the AC dryer for example. id be trying to shoe horn it into there.
Doesn't seem like a wise decision to remove the ability to clean the windscreen...but you do you. The oem one is enormous and ugly ill agree with that.

I have never seen a smaller bottle solution. Sounds like a good idea, I will research it. Do you have any pictures or ideas on this?I personally would retain the function it and just hide a smaller bottle somewhere else. there is a fair bit of room under the headlight next to the AC dryer for example. id be trying to shoe horn it into there.

VW Beetles had all manner of small WW tanks over the years, and the aftermarket there should make them easy to find. There's lots of space behind the front valence if you want to go the more modern route and hide a tank with some crazy long filler neck.Comment
