Had a shop smoke test and they said VCG has a huge air leak (even though it’s a brand new VCG). Tightened the VCG bolts and no dice. Could be a bunch of other things.
For the VCG, did they smoke test it to figure out where it's leaking? (Rocker shaft plugs, cam shaft seal, gasket itself, breather tube, etc.) Have you tried replacing the engine coolant temp sensor (blue plug) with a good Bosch sensor?

I am an hour and 45 minutes away, I might check this out. Its kind of a small park, wondering how that works out. . .

    when do the raffles happen?

I'm only going to come out for a day trip, and if its too hot, I won't bring my dog. So I might need to juggle arrival/departure times if I need to get home to let him out.

Just got my E30 running again - new spark plugs and O2 sensor got it running like a top. Plan to come out to the picnic unless something unexpected happens.

Unfortunately I won't be able to make it this year. I'm gonna be in South Carolina for a family reunion. It was a great time last year though. I was trying to wear my wife down about leaving Sunday instead of Friday so I could make it but she already agreed to leave a day early for a track day at VIR on our way back to NJ the following weekend.

I will be there, driving over from Philly. kyleconstantine, caravan over?

Also, the picnic is 10-5, so I was thinking about trying to camp somewhere near by. There is a couple of KOAs with cabins for $108/night and tent sites for $55/night.

Hope you don't mind, I merged your post into this thread.
I'm thinking of making the trip from Canada as well, if only for the experience.

My biggest concern is finding a place to stay for a few nights where the E30 will be safe!
