I got another ticket yesterday, that's twice in a month and I haven't had one in the last 20 years before this month. I was driving my 91 318i and CHP nailed me on a rural road in south SLO county near Nipomo CA. They clocked me 65 in a 55 zone, how lame is that. The road wasn't even a state HWY.

I'm doing my part to help reduce the CA budget deficit. Sucks to be me.

I got nailed by the CHP in rural Santa Barbara county. So if I was ticketed by the CHP, I guessing that my fine is going to the state, not the local authorities???

And traffic cases are the ONLY cases in which if you get found guilty you can ask for another trial. Its called a trial de novo, and there too the judge decides.

    That's what I thought.

WIth that much over, I wouldnt fight it, Id take traffic school and just be more careful or be better about seeing cops on a freeway. And its true that they have been suggested to step up the tickets to help the state. Ive had 2 tickets in 2 months both for 10 mile over the limit (40 in a 30 and 50 in a 40). Plus the police presence taking laser and radar has exploded in thelast few months. So its just obvious. Ive had my car lasered probably 6 times in the last few months. It used to happen 6 times maybe in a year. Plus they are hiding in places that in my 28 years I have never ever seen a cop. Around my house you know where are the hot spots, but in the last few months Ive seen them in extremely rare places.
