no body has any info or hints on this? I was think that if the 250 is lighter that the 260 that it might offset the engine weight to some extent

isn't the 250 the pile of shit transmission that some E36s came with? if so, I don't think any weight savings is worth it. It's not like the G260 is heavy or something.

If I were in your shoes asking this question I'd get one of each and weigh them, I say this for a myriad of reasons.
I'm Not Right in the Head | Random Rants and other Nonsense1st Order Logic Failure: Association fallacy, this type of fallacy can be expressed as (∃xS : φ(x)) → (∀xS : φ(x)), meaning "if there exists any x in the set S so that a property φ is true for x, then for all x in S the property φ must be true".

            If there's a difference it's probably like 10lbs. The heavy ass 4HP-22 is only 110lbs. I think my 265CR was about 80.

afaik the 250 is only in the e36 M3 the rest of the e36 trans are ZF, the 250 is close ratio with 5th being a one to one ratio

The 250 is in 325s, the ZF is M3s and 328s.

It's generally avoided for swaps, most either stick with the 260 or go with the ZF.

It can't be too heavy, I can easily pick up and move the 260 so I can't imagine either E36 trans being heavy.

Not to mention, you aren't Micheal Schumacher. I seriously doubt you could tell 10-20lbs in trans weight affecting the chassis dynamics.

well my thinking was that 10-20 lbs is still weight plus you don't have to deal with the shifter stuff, it doesn't make sense to go looking for one but if i get a whole parts car with trans then it may be worth it

the 250 is a pretty tough tranny and doesn't shift like a ZF, I mean ass...
