I had American Collectors for my 73 2002 and they where good, no claims though. I wanted agreed value on my e39 Touring but they wouldn't cover it.
I changed to Hagerty when I bought my 90 M3 and went through an Agent Paul who has had a booth at many of the Vintage events. He's licensed in 50 states to sell Hagerty.
He did the Heritage agreed Value on all three of my BMW's, if totaled they payout and you keep the car. 60k on M3 plan to raise it to 75k I think, 45k on the 2002 and he got me 25k on the Touring which is what I asked for.
I have AAA for my daily's. I found it better going to an Agent then getting a random person on an 800 number.

I gotcha, I was just trying to determine where the discrepancy in pricing between the numbers I was seeing and what other people were getting. And I've talked to people in the past who still had liability covered through a 'normal' insurer and got the rest of it insured through a company like Hagerty.

            Maybe,

when i asked about mine she said that "model" 525i isn't covered. She told me to call back because they're always changing what is and isn't covered.

If you want I can dm you the agent phone number. The costs are same if you go through an agent or their 800 number

Late, but I have both E30's on Hagerty. Agreed value on both, 20k on the 318is, 25k on the swapped 318i.

Mine is with USAA. Their collector coverage was with a 3rd party. I opted to stay regular with my BMW since they agreed on the value based on current fair market prices.

Great regular coverage if you can qualify (Must have military family members). Haven’t dealt with any accidents or pay-outs (thankfully).

I was able to get 50K coverage through Hagerty for my 84 318i, but they did ask for photos to verify its condition first. The agent also told me that they don't really want to cover modified cars, so we left that part out.

I've heard the measure of a good insurance company is not the deal they offer you, but how they take care of you after an accident. USAA treated us good for years. Switch to a local insurer in the PNW when we moved here who screwed us when our F31 got hit. Switched back to USAA immediately afterwords.

Good advice. Sorry that happened to you. But it is good wisdom to share.

I tried to see if Hagerty would cover my 85' 318i but their website rejected my car, However I will need to get my car switched onto Antique Plates and call an agent to see if I can get a good policy on a budget from Hagerty. Progressive is the bottom of the barrel but it does prevent issues with not having insurance in the first place.

Strange, they covered my 85 318i.
