Chi-town got its name "The Windy City" because of all the big mouthed politicians... although it is windy anywhere near the lake front.

europe all the way. 2000+ years of culture vs a city that can't be older than 1700's. and the museum argument; i don't get whyyou would want to look at a picture of the sistine chapel when you can vidi the real thing. not to mention: autobans, october fest, real italian pasta, red light district, beater euro-mullet sightings (though we still have the top five on lock between the south and midwest), the opertunity to visit the birth place of guniess, the opertunity to visit the BMW (ferrari, porch, pagani, etc.) plant, DTM racing vs. nascar. and as far as the mean frogs go remind them that they roll over anytime the germans so much as look in their general direction. did i mention that something like 90% of sweedish women shave!? and i dont mean their armpits. chi-town does suposibly have some of the best pizza in the world. but all that lake effect snow and not a single mountain around to go rip on? come on now; thats not to say that america is weak sauce but you've a whole life to live here.

Been there done that. Visited all of the places you are talking about. But there is only so much real Italian pasta. Every now and then, you have to mix it up. Not many other choices of cuisine, just different names on the door. Don't get me started on convenience.

Basically the only reason to leave here is the people. We generally are not liked here. Sure your money is good for tourism, but try being stationed here for longer.

When I retire from the military me and the wife are living in Japan (her home country)anyway, so it's not about living in the US.
