No matter how low I go, VW's are always going lower so I prefer to drive comfortably over speedbumps.

BTW. 87 e30 your car is ill.

After that happened I bought a new shell, swapped the motor, and the suspension. Back down again.

You almost need a more nimble suspension in Detroit, just so you can avoid the craters on the highway at 80 without body rolling out of control.

I hope these are still around in a year from nor or so. They're on my list to buy after I just pwn'd my first oil pan and pump. Your plate is something I want in the not-quite-immediate future.

No longer stock ride height, rolling as low as a daily driver in New England should without worrying about breaking an oil pan.

Soft springs don't help anything... I hardly ever scrape anything on my GC coilovers. I know I'm not dumped. But I'm pretty low for e30 standards and I've only hit my oil pan once. And it was becasue I didn't see the speed bump in front of me. So use your head, get good springs, and don't be a bitch. :D

                    What rates are you running?

I went with soft rates on my GC's, 375/425 since I live in the city and it's my daily.
They're comfortable, but maybe too soft. The good thing is I can just swap them out.

for those that have been to Bethlehem PA i think we can relate to the roads of detroit... my e12, almost hits pan strattling the raised pavement made by heavy trucks on warm summer days...

Justin's driveway is feasible you just need to angle up and down it... my driveway on the other hand is impossible for anything but 4x4 to conquer.
Its a bitch too because thats the only place I can wash my car.
anything lowered = death on it. even the 5er has to go super slow to not scrape the valance

All of my cars are lowered and I wouldn't have it any other way. I live in a very wealthy town, so the roads are pretty well maintained considering I'm in Ohio. They ought to be though, since we pay taxes out the ass. If you ever go over to Pennsylvania, the roads are equivalent to a 3rd world country.

                            Because snow.
Lots, and lots of snow. So I have this thing.

Yes, during winter I routinely have to plow my way out, just to leave the house in the morning.
Do I still drive the E30 in winter? Occasionally... But I think this is the old girls final days now.

Holy thread resurrection. And this thread sucks too. All these guys who say shit like "I would lower my car...but da rodes r tu badd!" need to just say they don't want to lower their cars.

Especially when they're somewhere that doesn't even experience frost heave. Or are in countries that seem to give at least a single fuck about roads or vehicles
