I believe we are close to the same age, I'm 27, and grew up listening to some of his earlier stuff.

He made some good music, but it's not like I knew the guy or something.

I never understood how people get so fucked up about people they don't even know. Yeah, it's terrible for their friends and family, it just doesn't affect me.

I just don't understand that at all. His music shaped the industry back then, and affected more people than possibly any other artist in history, save for maybe Elvis.

I'm not talking about normal people like us, who go "Oh that sucks, life is too short, blah blah blah"

I'm talking about the people you see on TV bawling, holding candle-light vigils on the side of the road, etc.

Josh, I'm 45, remember when Thriller was new, blah blah. He destroyed his own legacy with his actions after that. I'm not going to dance on the mans grave if he is in fact dead, but I can't say I'm really sad either.

24... but I see your point.

And, when I have kids, knowing he's in the ground=2 more nights of sleep for me.

I am 43 and I hated his music back when I was a teenager. I have always hated pop rock! Floyd and Led Zep was where it was at for me back then. Personally I think he was a freak and the world is better off now that he is gone. I can't imagine they take child molesters to kindly on the other side!

I wonder how long before some douchebag reporter asks Mcauly Kaulkin how he feels right now..

lol. I just went and checked. A couple of used copies are going for like $200-$300. I bought mine for $1 at the good will.

I enjoyed the music as a kid. But it all went bad about 20 years ago. He died long ago for me. RIP
