      The construction of the inner fender area and shock towers is way different from the E12 to E28 based cars. The E12s have much larger and flatter shock towers and big overlapping sections of sheet metal that come forward from the mounts and attach to the inner fender section itself. There's a fairly large visible seam where they overlap.

      Also, the wrap around rear bumper didn't start until half way through 1982 production which is when the car changed from the E12 to E28 platform.

      There are various other differences, mostly interior changes that took place in mid-1982.

      In any case, that is a seriously clean shark. I'd do nasty things to own it.

        didnt know the 6 was built on the same chassis as the e28. cool info
