Some may hate me for this. but I am going to cut up the body and put carbon fiber zg flares on there. I wasn't going to, but the car at one point was hit in the back quarter. It was bondo'ed at one point, but the bondo cracked.

so instead of getting a new quarter on there, I'm just going to get some flares so I can run huge wheels

If you don't have these guys bookmarked, You should...

ArizonaZCar manufactures and sells street and racing brake systems, suspensions for Datsun 240Z, 260Z and 280Z's.

And check out http://forums.hybridz.org/. Amazing info source on the S30 and other Z's.

I'm on hybridz as floorless240z, (my first z car had rusty floors, I had to order pans from charlie osbourne). been on since '02 (this is my third 240z). I've had ross' (modern motorsports) rear brake kit before, I don't think I'll be doing it again. Going to go with arizona Z car front and back this time (4 piston wilwoods).

I just made a thread on hybriz trying to decide between ground control and arizona z car coilovers. azc shocks have more adjustability than tokico (14 settings vs 5). Their camber plates necessitate cutting/welding, though, as GC's do not.

            AZC

Cool deal, I have been on there since I got my Z(coincidentally for free from my father aswell) in late '03. I have big plans for my 240Z once I finish school...

                what are you doing?

I'm doing brakes and suspension now, as well as paint, zg flares and wheels (rota rb-r until I can afford some real wheels). But before real wheels I'll do an L28et. Got some fixed back sparcos for it as well, need a roll bar and harnesses

Going the LS1/T56 route with it, G-nose, ZG flares. I received my Z in '03 rusted to hell(as usual), with frontend damage(cosmetic only, but every front panel is damaged) and a bad rod knock(Car was stolen then recovered beat to shit). I drove it for about 3 weeks then parked it when I picked up my first E30.

The car has been on the back burner since I got it, Just been tinkering with it and reading massive amounts of info online, Planning really.

                    Hey Andre,

Your dad's one of the nicest 'Z' people I've met ... it was great of him to give you the car.

My advice is to do whatever you want with it. 45K original miles really means nothing unless you're doing a correct, authentic restoration. If you want a correct, original Z, go buy one - they're out there for 15-20K. Since your car has some accident damage, and the original paint is gone, I say do what you want with the car. Well done, modified Z's still hold their value.

There's lots of engine choices - basically what's you're credit limit? I'm partial to the L28 ... I found an air pump that will end up on my blue '71 - might be something you see at the Glen next year.

Good luck with your project - I've got a basement full of Z stuff - if you need anything, let me know - may have it kicking around.
