yeah, but if he hasnt been retrofitted he wont be able to fill it anyway. the Red and Blue caps on the 2 ports should be easily visible along the pass side fender, if they are brass caps then you cant use 134Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.

All e30's came with R12 not R134a. You have to buy a specific retrofit kit that has new seals, valves, caps, oil, etc that allows the system to work correctly, it's not just about having a compatible compressor. I believe Pelican Parts sells the kit.
High is red, low is blue. At least that's what on my car and I had mine converted.

why is your system 'empty'?
assuming your system has already been retrofitted to r134 and you don't have any leaks, you need to pull a vacuum on it to get all the air out of the system prior to putting refrigerant in, otherwise your a/c will work like shit.
have you replaced your receiver dryer?______________________

I'm trying to decide whether I want to bother converting to R134, try to find some R12 or just delete the AC altogether. After driving in LA on more than one occasion, I'm more inclined to make it work.
Anyone have a guide on how to convert the system to R134?paint sucksComment
