there is definitely a little part of me that really hates to see a BMW die like this. i feel like it is even worse since they "poison" it first with that motor killing stuff. i almost wish they would just crush it first.

but when it comes down to it, there are thousands of E28's, and hundreds in excellent condition. if it was worth more than 4500, then the owner would just sell it for that.

I agree... WTF???

The government is forcing them to physically scrap them, not even a chance for a part out. Thats the part that made me ill about this program, whatever happened to recycling???

the gov. doesnt pay for anything.--- here in Germany they get turned into a "scrap-yard" the title gets destroyed-- making it impossible to register the car ever again-- then the yard disposes of the cars whichever way they feel.--- everyone makes a few bucks then....

recycling, whats that????? I come from the Chicago area orig. and there still is no effort to recycle anything there!
