Definitely an interesting read, if nothing else.

there is definitely a little part of me that really hates to see a BMW die like this. i feel like it is even worse since they "poison" it first with that motor killing stuff. i almost wish they would just crush it first.

but when it comes down to it, there are thousands of E28's, and hundreds in excellent condition. if it was worth more than 4500, then the owner would just sell it for that.

are the people really that stupid in the U.S. nowadays??????

                      WTF???

why not just part out the car like they are doing here in Germany??? wtf is with "killing" the engine--- if the wrecking company had half of a clue they would pull the motor and just part out the car.
                      whatever.

                        I agree... WTF???

The government is forcing them to physically scrap them, not even a chance for a part out. Thats the part that made me ill about this program, whatever happened to recycling???

                        It all blows.

paying people to pull them apart and sell them is even more money being spent by the government.

the gov. doesnt pay for anything.--- here in Germany they get turned into a "scrap-yard" the title gets destroyed-- making it impossible to register the car ever again-- then the yard disposes of the cars whichever way they feel.--- everyone makes a few bucks then....
                            it does'nt cost anything--

recycling, whats that????? I come from the Chicago area orig. and there still is no effort to recycle anything there!

They don't want us buying the parts and fixing our old cars, they want us to scrap them when they break and buy a new GM instead.
