This is how my new car went down today

bought a 91 325i test drove it for a good 25 min or so and it drove wonderful, then parked it went through the whole car and there was nothing wrong at all besides the ghetto wiring on the angel eyes. i bought it for 1,900 and started the drive from portland to olympia. first stop was for gas, filled up, me and my dad were talking coming out of the bathroom and my dad says shit turn that hose off under my car there was gas everywhere then took it out and it kept flowing for about 2 gallons and then just stopped, so i pushed it away from the pumps and started it. and drove it to castle rock and the engine oil light came on so pulled off and got some thing to eat and put oil in it, finally got home and started looking at it, and we spotted this right away (pic below)... so now i dont know what to do cuz the car smells like gas and when you stand away you can smell it...i dont know what to do, you guys recommend any thing?

If it smells like gas you look for the leak and fix it or you take the car in and pay someone to fix it. It's not rocket science.

really? damn that would be a good idea. i was wondering if anyone has had this happen to them. that way they could just tell me what was wrong. Did you have a bad day or are you always like this?

Dude, you have a gas leak, it can only leak from so many places. We can't tell you exactly what is wrong over the internet.

Have you even pulled the back seat out yet? This isn't your first e30 from what I read.

No, its not but i never did any work to my other one. Now i want to work on my own car cause it is to expensive to have a shop do it. i'm not a mechanic at all. yes, i pulled it out and no gas there and it got to dark on me.

Gas leak shouldn't be too hard to fix. Definitely not a deal breaker either. Look for the leak as best you can, and if you can't find it, take it to a shop.

Is that a picture of the back if the rear seat?

i think the overflow/expansion tank is near the rear by the spare tire well. Look under the car and you should be able to see it. Inspect it. Like everyone else has said, you need to look for the source of the leak. The only way to learn about working on your car is to start working on it.

get out on the passenger side and take of teh RR wheel and take of that little panel. if you see it rusted up towards where the 3 tubes run into the car its most likely leaking there. Most likely its one of the smaller ones. If you look in the back of your inner fender well there will be that plastic tank as pictured in the link a couple post above. If its filled up your purge valve prolly isn't purging gas back into the system.

I was up above it, Now I'm down in it ~ Entropy - A Build thread.

While searching for said gas leak, try to refrain from smoking.;) It's not a huge deal, just annoying
