My e30 got flooded. Is the motor trash?

I got stuck in a flash flood on my way home. I found myself in about 1 foot of rising water with no way out. People are assholes so I couldn't go back - so I sat there. When it started to go down in one lane I tried to go only to get hammered by the wake of a huge truck hauling ass through the deeper water in the lanes to my right. My car died on the spot.

I got it towed home. The oil looks okay but I pulled the plugs and there seemed to be water in the cylinders - the plugs were wet-ish. When I try to start the car the engine jolts and the starter can't move. It tries - but fails. I'm fucked, right?

This is the 2nd car this year to get flooded. I need to move.

Hydrolocked? Was the motor running and sucked in water then died?

The motor was running and then died. The motor will not turn over with the plugs out. Could it be electrical?

          Water in cylinders.

          Hydrolocked.

Sucks man, I'm sorry. Sucking water into the engine is ALWAYS a no no.

I want to make sure my motor is fucked before that happens. I have an awesome car to drive in the meantime - an olds cutlass supreme vert.

I dont know, this happend to me once. I pulled it home, pulled all the plugs out and cranked it. It spit all the water out,I sprayed wd40 in there and replaced the plugs. It ran normal again.

That might work for me if the motor would turn.

                      What the fuck! Crazy talk!

I guess try to make it start, you could leave the plugs out and hope it evaporates some, but likely it's gone.

You can always get lucky though.

Here's how I just assessed the damage.

The car is on a flat surface. I put the car in 5th gear with no brakes on and pushed as hard as I could. Nothing.

                          Pretty sure I'm screwed.
