These e30tech and r3v double posts are really confusing. Anyway, if L-jet tronic blows, can't you use some other generic engine mgmt like ms or something that doesn't suck?
Good News! I've got a blown head gasket!!!

The doors were alloy too.
They didn't come on the 333i though, they came on the first 500 run of the 325iS.
Later 325iS Evo 2's didn't have them.

Good call; the newer engine management is excellent. Besides, the motor (exterior) is virtually the same minus the slight difference in the logos on the valve cover and intake manifold.
Internal displacement shouldnt matter so much, go with the more efficient motor. My opinion though, just tossing it out there.Comment

+1 I wouldn't do a b32 unless I was going with megasquirt. Also, with the b32's and b34's there is a little more bfh work that needs to be done to the firewall. The b35 is motronic 1.3 and the mounts are much easier to get.- '88 m54 coupe

not all b32's are L jetronic I had an '84 533i with motronic, not 1.3 though and it had idle problems.

Had a talk with my friend Paul Cain today. I've decided I'm looking for a series 3 M30B35, (from e28 535i's from 1985-1987), we will make the engraving on the block go from 3.5, to 3.3. Yea, it's called a 333i replica for a reason. So it has the extra horsepower because it's a 3.5 liter, but it will look identical to a 3.3 liter block, just like the 333i.
Searching for a donor car now...
Everybody keep in mind, this is my first engine swap, I'm learning as I go...Comment

From my M10? Yea, I guess I could part out what's left of the M10, doubt anybody wants anything from it though.

I would really get a b35. The difference in torque is quite noticeable from the b34 to b35- '88 m54 coupe

SA market only sort-of-a-homologation-special. Came with an M30B32 that had its naughty bits touched by Alpina, aluminum front-end sheetmetal, Mtech I kit, and a 333i badge.Comment

Because that's not the engine the 333i came with now is it?
those and m50's just don't look right in an e30 engine bay to me. the M30 at least looks period correct. And also, i'm not made of money. If I had my way, I'd get an s14.Comment
