You're in Washington. That doesn't help me.

Wow! Blew a headgasket?! Shit and I thought my stock m10 was in crappy condition, but it never did once blow the gasket....instead it just cracked the block in multiple places lol!

Good luck dude... keep in mind b35 heads fit better as you won't have a rear coolant neck/hose to deal with. I also like b35 because it's got less vacuum lines etc. But I do understand you want to make a replica 333 right?

You going to REF it too? I am getting close to making my car ready for BAR... keep in mind you'll need to add a check engine light as well :)

excuse my noobish mechanical knowledge, but what? :)

I might end up getting a 3.5 and having the engraving on the block say 3.3 for authenticity, but it's kind of a "sleeper" concept. Although nobody looks at the block, it's a cool idea and completely do-able.

Well, you plan on going from a 4 cyl to a 6, so this will be a big red flag when you try to smog it unless you know someone who will ignore that fact. So, to make it legal you have to get the car through CA BAR Referee station who'll check what was done and give you a sticker that makes your engine swap legal. In order to get the car through them you have to follow a set of rules. Main thing is, engine has to be newer than the chassis, engine has to come from a CA car, engine has to have ALL of it's components present and hooked up, exhaust system needs to have a CAT that is made for that year/model engine (this was just updated 1/2009), and check engine light present and working (I am at this final stage now with my swap).

CA BAR might look at the block and the head numbers. So you might want to double check on that.

ohhhh I know what you're talking about now. I had this exact conversation with my neighbor. Thanks for the heads up though. I'm not doing this swap alone Danny, so I'm not fucked. I'm obviously getting help.

Just saying, do your research so when you get your hood popped, you don't get fucked like I did.

done helping this kid. you dont know what your getting into, and nothing will come of this, other than a very wealthy mechanic

frankly, i could imagine a SA 333i with an S52B32 being a unique car, and maybe making it into a BMW mag [if done right]

Your very kind for your support. Thank you.:|

Despite what you think, this swap is happening, I'm not paying a mechanic to do it, I'll be doing it with my neighbor, Paul Cain, and the help of my Dad also. I really couldn't care less what you think. A lot of people on this board have been wanting me to do a swap since I first got my car, so I thought I'd tell them I am. Have a little faith, or get over it and move on.
