You could do all that, or just swap to an M20 for a similar amount of power, and probably spend a lot less.

anyway, foar a m10 i would put kittie litter in the block and run it for about 5 mins to break down the carbon deposits. after that you should add more ram to the ecu. reboot the ecu and then drive it around and see if it has made any difference. if it hasnt, try moar of step 1.

I'd say another camshaft and double the valves is a good replacement for displacement.

But yeah M20 will get you some power. It won't really be fast by any means but it won't be shit slow.
