So e30 M3 are more value or collectables then the e28 M5? I never been fan of the e28, but there are some out there that makes change my mind about that model.

    I still dream owning a e34 M5 though, that's the M5 I want!

Nice car, but it puts me to sleep everytime I drive one. E30 M3, E28 M5, and the later E39 M5 are much more engaging to drive. IMHO.

Wow, I thought I'd heard damn near everything. Can someone please explain the above statement?

like another poster said, the market on e28 m5s has been pretty flat for a while. you can buy high mileage cars for about the same price as a nice e28 535is, but they can be a ticking time bomb IF they haven't been maintained. count on doing the timing chain and tensioner at a minimum (about $1500). the s38 is an s14 with 2 more cylinders, so a lot of the same stuff applies.
i bought for $6000 and then spent another $4000 getting the head completely rebuilt. my car has full coilovers, recaro seats, schrick cams, and a bunch of other stuff.

actually the rarest is the Special Paint Euro M5's ...
it's a black/blue color, IMO the most rare of the rare..
I have only seen one for sale on Mobile.de and the guy wouldn't sell it to me because I was from the U.S......
The Euro M5 came in Silver too and Daimond Schwarz and maybe another color or two...

E34 M5's are a different animal, if you could get a 3.8L it might be worth it but the others are too heavy IMO...

Kinda like an M6 vs M5, no offense meant, but the M6's are heavier are you can tell it when you drive them, they seem heavy...
not nearly as tossible as an M5 IMO...

E34 M5 puts you to sleep, and the E39 M5 doesn't? You are a complete fucking idiot then, or you just aren't driving the former correctly.

Haha. I love this board. But to respond to your assault, I've driven the shit out of both cars and the E34 M5 just doesn't do anything for me. Sorry if I offended anyone.

That would be the 3.6L right? How about the 3.8L version?

Sort of not related: This place has had this e34 for sale for a loooong time. The price seems kinda high but its in great condition.

Just like an E30 M3 you buy the best one you can afford. You'll always be money ahead long run.
