I was never interested in BMWs, much less E30s. I knew they were expensive and that yuppies drove them, but that's about it. Only reason I own a BMW now is because the car was exactly what I was looking for, that and I wanted something a little newer than '67!
when did you know you were into E30s?

I only bought mine because it was cheap, looked pretty good, and I needed a car. I was planning on just driving it until I got enough money, and then selling it to get what I really wanted, but I fell in love with it.Comment

I was into em the day my dad pulled up the driveway towing mine.
I didn't know a thing about them.. but I fell in love with that car.
It was supposed to be just a project for my dad to fix up and sell..
But I spent so much time caring for it, my dad finally figured out how badly I wanted it and gave it to me.

Brew got me into E30s like a year and a half ago. I had the dough for a used car, and was considering a few different things. Then I drove Brew's old 325e. I just loved the overall feel of it. I looked out for E30s, E34s, and even E32s. I considered a few higher mileage 5spd 735i's, and got screwed out of a deal on an awesome 535i. I finally ended up buying an '87 325is and I've been in love with E30s ever since.Comment

That is really too bad.Originally posted by DaveCNI think he sold the M3 he was building and may have left our ranks.
I realized I wanted one about 2 years ago, saw 5 of them all traveling together on the freeway, started researching about them then. Drove a few strictly transportation cars, (selling my ford escort soon) to start putting money into my 84 eta.Comment

first time I noticed e30's was Randy Sparre's car. After that, BEN, then I finally got my dream e30 by then (I wanted a rust-free calypso coupe, 89 or 1990. I joined e30sport, then r3v. I started modifying my car in my garage (suspension). After breaking my control arm, I took it to a shop named Treehouse Racing while I went to school. The rest is history as they say.
