we've got a 20 yearold 35mm SLR..it's pretty badass but its starting to break film. :?

I like the colors in the 1st pic and the shot came out nice and clear but what is the subject of that picture? is there any significance to that angle of the house/building? same question goes for the 5th pic, any significance of the gaping hole in the concrete? i really like the 7th pic, it would be cool to see the horizon, but i know that you probably couldnt get the right angle from where you were standing for that. the 8th pic could deffinately use more cropping, and i think it really shows the limitations of a point and shoot camera, but still a good picture. the 9th pic is cool, but i think that the tip of the tree behind the mirror is a distraction. you may want to consider removing it. the 10th pic would look better if it wasnt at an angle imo, and it could afford to lose the door on the left side since the colors dont go with the rest of the picture. the 12th pic is a very good shot. the horse pictures may look better with tighter cropping. the 18th pic (birds) is my favorite, i wouldnt change anything on it. the 19th pic seems like you were unfortunate with the lighting and got mostly the shaded side of the building, it also seems a little incomplete. same with the church/cathedral pic, it would be nice to see the whole structure, but the sky looks pretty cool. the 2nd to last shot is interesting but the sky seems to be the weak point of the pic (unlike the rest of the shots). the last shot is good, but the street light seems way out of place (clone tool) and the horizon is a little crooked.

Thanks a lot! I was hoping for someone to reply like this. I agree with every point you made. I really appreciate you taking the time to critique this stuff. I am going to keep that stuff in consideration.

I've done some SLR work, and I dig them a lot. I just don't have much money to spend on photography. I'd like to get a high end digital cam eventually.

Seriously.....very good shots TJ. I've spent some time dabbling with my Canon Powershot S30. Still a number of features I have to figure out, but I enjoy trying to get good scene shots. Night time photos tend to be tricky when it comes to the lighting.....well at least for me it is.
