Hi Karl ... I'm a friend of fporro's. Re upholstery, I've worked with a Korean guy named David who runs a place called Golden Upholstery for 20+ years. Good guy -- reasonable and does great work (his shop -- which is a couple blocks east of downtown -- is typically filled with nice German cars on any given day).

Can't be much help with a body shop as I am looking for one now myself.

              Aloha from Oahu. ;)

AinaDude, Im thinking of Vidal Car Service on Waipahu for paint-jobs, he quoted me 2500 for quality work and does tons of VW's, ghias etc.

Hi Frank ... just got off the air and saw your message. Re Vidal, haven't heard of him but I can ask Tony and Albert if they know anything (they recommend a guy on Kapahulu). How are things up at your place? ... still would love to use your driveway sometime if the coast is clear ... :)

Does yours have a any stickers on it? I saw a very clean white E30 in a cul-de-sac I drove down a few weeks ago when I was driving around Oahu.

I would dread being an enthusiast in that Honolulu traffic though. Low speed limits everywhere, tons of traffic. A Tesla would be ideal I think, not like you're going to go on any road trips over 200 miles. On the other hand, the sites are beautiful on the highways.

No, no stickers. And, besides, I sold my e30 about a year ago to a guy in SF. Driving the black e21 now.

Meanwhile, Oahu is not a great place for drivers. Not only are the limits low, but there's traffic everywhere ... almost all the time. Always cracks me up the tourists who rent Ferraris and Lamborghinis out of Waikiki -- complete waste except for a stretch of a few miles on the way to the North Shore ...

My thoughts exactly. I could honestly say I would rather have a Vespa there. Parking is awful too.

Parking -- on Oahu, anyway -- IS awful ... like Manhattan without the charm

It all depends were in Oahu, plenty of street parking where I am.

I'll say Waikiki reminds me of Manhattan with a beach, for sure.

Less densely populated for sure. HiKai is getting busy too.
