BMW is good if you're a 40 year old trophy wife and you want something to take your ugly kids to school in.

I've been in and out of many, driven countless, and they are nice cars. You get over the looks when you are behind the wheel, or watching them be made.

new bmw is pretty iffy. the new m3 has the power and the diesel has the torque, but they don't have the looks or the older cars.

e39, and maybe an e9x is the only ones I would go. I'm kind of disappointed that the X-series can't tow too much.

I don't know, my e46 M3 was garbage. Great car when it worked, they will be impossible to maintain in 5 more years.

I'm probably not as experienced, but those that I have driven, mostly 3-series and 5-series, they are wonderfully driving cars, even in stock form. If you only drive 5/10ths ever, the Audis and Benzes are fine, and some can out-drag a BMW, but if cars were just for cruising and 0-60 times, we'd still have Hemi Darts.

I find most new BMW's very attractive and capable. Then again, I don't have to keep up with the Joneses.

Yep, it's depressing really. Once they get into "affordable" territory they will nightmares.

Every time I see a prototype I get so damn excited... then I test drive what they deliver, and I get pissed off. I want BMW performance with Ford Focus amenities. Build a 21st century 2002 and e30.

As far as 5ers and 7ers go, I like the direction....

Everytime people ask if I like BMWs I have to make sure I mention old BMWs. New ones some I like some I hate. New Audis look awesome but they are junk. New Mercedes aren't built like old Mercedes and everyone has one I see more AMGs than their regular cars. How do they hand build 20,000 engines a year?

Back in the 90s I would ask them stupid questions at the car shows and unveilings like automatic M5s and crap like turbos and junk like that only to get laughed at and look at the cars they are building now. That 5 series GranTurismo!? I don't think Mercedes is selling enough of their R class to even bother building something to go against it. Didn't the Aztec fail miserably?
