    Not a Mazda.

It's the new joint venture between Subaru and Toyota. Supposed to be an affordable, sporty RWD coupe.

    I think it looks awesome.

Since we're on the subject, wtf is up with the X5 and X6 M's? What "motorsport" are these things possibly going to compete in?

I've been trying to stay on BMW's side through all of this, but with those things and the new FWD model driving around, I just can't do it.

COmpete with the Porsche Cayennes. In the X5-X6 range make you mad, just imagine how pissed off the Porsche purists are/were with that monstrosity.

I hate the Cayenne too. And the Panamera.

I'm glad VW took over Porsche, Wiedeking was only out to make money. I would almost be happy if VW took over BMW

with the economic downturn I read somewhere that if Porsche didn't make a SUV they would of gone bankrupt.

car companies need to go where the money is or die out. I don't blam them for changing, they need to in order to be around in 10 years. and the m cars are overrated alot. no doubt. in last februrary's edition of "bmw car" magazine they show a 424bhp 335i that beat a e46 m3 easy. the v8 e92 m3 put up a close fight but was also beaten. but the fact is the stock e92 m3 was super close to the massive amount of work done to the 335i. for a stock car the m3 will always be bmw's king.

the Panamera does not seam like a bad car to me. no its not a 911 and yeahs it has 4 doors but it is still more or less a porsche. i think that was a good move buy porsche. they needed a nice 4 door car that could compete with audi bmw and benz's larger 4 door sport saloons.
as fare as bmw goes, i hate to say it but they are going down hill. yeahs they are trying to diversify but i think it has gotten to the point of bmw being a market hoer. i don't think a car company should try and compete with every other class of car the other companies are making. there is something to be said for doing a bit less but doing it really well.

^ What he said. I am tired of only being offered fat pigs with auto transmissions and so many unnecessary options that will cost far too much to keep running down the road.

Ill be honest, I can't afford to own a new BMW. Therefore I don't really care what they are doing.

"Every BMW I will own has already been built" This is pretty much true for me at this point.

I would like to own a E34 with a M50 for a DD and a couple more E30's, On top of my vert. I am happy with no monthly payment and lower insurance.

                            Fun fact:
The X6M weighs exactly twice as much as an E30 M3. I'm surprised it doesn't have 8 wheel drive.

Who the F### thoughught this was a good idea?

Just got back from seeing this in person. I had your reaction the first time I saw it. In person it actually looks awesome. Plus the 2 stage trunk is a pretty cool concept, I could fit so much stuff in that thing. A shortened 7 series wagon with a twin turbo v8? Yeah I'll take one.

Oh come on thats a low blow.

Anyways, honestly pictures don't do the new bimmers justice at all. Their performance figures may not be that great but they are still pretty cars in person.
