...Helper springs. :pyes, getting under my car sucks ass. Getting it back down isn't fun either.
I have to use ramps to get under the front spoiler. That's not so bad - I have some low profile ramps, easy to drive onto, just high enough to get a jack under there or change my oil.
But in the rear I have to put a block of wood on top of my jack pad, because the m-coupe diff cover hangs so low I can't just jack under the diff like normal... and then I have about 1/8" of travel to pump the jack up (good thing it's a decent jack). the worst part is the coilover springs fall out of the perches when you jack up the rear, so when I lower it down I have to just let the tires touch, and then monkey around moving the springs back onto the perches before I can lower it all the way. ugh.
Up until recently, I've done all, and I mean 100% of my work on the street, curbside. Having a nice, smooth concrete space for the motor swap (with a roof) was a godsend, when I get a house it's going to come with a garage and a goddamn lift. At $500, if you have the proper foundation, that's a no-brainer. Friend of mine got offered a lift for $500, he was stoked until he found out what the lady didn't tell him--that she still owed on it and he'd be paying to take over her payments.paint sucksComment

the issue of it being to wide--
think about this-
when ever I open my doors on a standard 2 post, I have squeeze out--with a 10ft stance no more having to squeeze out.
DO IT!!!!
I have not seen one go for less than 1100.00.
If you pass this up you will regret it.

Been a member for a few years but thanks. Looking at putting up a bigger garage-pole barn as they offer more for what I need for less hassle.
Zoning laws are next issue. On a side not I will be warm this year with a Reznor 50K btu lpg burner.Comment

Very sweet, I opted to sell it to a friend as it was too big for my garage and took up too much space. So now I have free use at his place of it.Comment

As mentioned I passed it along to a friend, my garage was not functional enough to support it. It would have to been raised 4 feet in oder for it to have worked. Friends garage was tall enough and the unit was so priced right.Comment

You said it was 8 feet tall and your garage would have to be raised 4 feet?
Your garage is only 4 feet tall then? Your E30 must be slammed. ;)

we used to have a motorhome so my 3rd garage bay is made to order, 12ft wide x 14ft tall.
this is the best thing i've ever bot and saved up for it for a couple years
bot it from northern tool and am very pleased with it. plus free shipping.
it took 3 of us to build it over 4 hrs. heavy shit. seriously heavy.

It is 8 ft and the garage rafters are 8'-6" but in order to work under with out hunching over you would want to lift the car to at least 6'. That is not possible, and it's too wide to continue using two bays as overnight parking.
Very cool you should add a storage loft up thereComment
