    More goodness...

'Yard got me the reman'd head, although the sent me an OBD-II gasket set not an OBD-I gasket set like I told them.

Getting ready to order a Dr Vanos Stg 1, chain tensioner and a few other little things. Hoping to have the car back on the road next month.

Unfortunately, yes. I'd love to throw some Schricks in there, but at this point I just don't have another $1100 laying around to drop on the car.

Having just bought a house means I can't continue to dump endless amounts of money into the car at the moment.

especially when you can't seem to stop talking about selling it for a mustang, hyundai, or toyburu, etc.

Blown headgasket. 'Yard said in there experience 9 times out of ten on a 24v motor the head cracks as well.

              So we'll see.

I don't remember if I started a thread or not. Not sure why the headgasket went, didn't appear to be knocking/pinging from too far advanced ignition or anything.

It's great that you are back on track! Did the HG somehow take the vanos with it, or was it on its way out prior to the HG thing?

No, but the Vanos unit was pretty noisy, so I figured "while we're in there".

And it seems that it isn't too pricey after you get your core charge back.

Wouldn't the only thing that not work on the OBD2 gasket set is manifold/throttle body seal

Excuse my ignorance, but would a full obd 1 headset work for an s52 obd 1 car? I thought the valve cover gasket was different as well?
