Tiff Needle is an excellent driver who used to race an e30 M3 in BTCC. Then Jason Plato, who's a younger guy and co-hosted with Tiff, is still a highly ranked BTCC racer. while that is all true, TG is just fun in an accessible fucking-around kind of way that FG isn't. which is why TG's producers hire /presenters/ and not racing drivers.

Pity it is boring as all get-out, and Tiff's voice and mannerisms annoy me. A lot.

There are better sources for "gearhead" information IMO.

While I'm not what I'd consider a fan of Top Gear, they do take a highly passionate and niche subject and make it appealing and understandable to the masses. And their cinematography is real purdy and shit.

agreed. the only time i watch fifth gear is when they include a car i'm interested in. i really like tiff and JP, but vicki is SO FUCKING ANNOYING WHEN SHE SQUEALS and she is not cute like some people think, she is just annoying.

on the other side of things, top gear does not include annoying people in their show, and no matter what car they are driving, it is entertaining. (although the end of last season while they were driving the aston martin and they got all sappy... that was a bit unnecessary).
