Relatively fast......to what? The titanic can from go zero to iceberg faster than the 318iS can reach 60mph.

I'm with everyone else that I really cannot see where you pull the comparison between a semi-new $13k fwd car and a really old $3k rwd car.

stay away from the CVTs... that's a no brainer

edit: I like how all the n00bs are [fapfapfap.gif] and the OGs are [yawn.gif]

too lazy to find them.. haha

As far as i know the S never got the CVT so that shouldn't be a problem.

Get the mini, that leaves more E30s for the rest of us.

That depends. For the money that you will spend for an r53, you could build up a pretty BA e30. Granted, the r53 can make more power much more easily than an e30 can, and upgrades are about a dime a dozen. r53s have a ton of torque steer, though, and they tend to be extremely rattly. My e30 on ground controls rides better than most of the hundreds of r53s I've driven. And I'm not exaggerating; I work at the dealer.

But seriously, the MCS looks waaay too feminine. Maybe you appreciate the songs of Depeche Mode, though.

Well, I have a 325 stroker & my sister has a MCS that I get to use on occasion. I honestly don't know which I'd be happier with. That MCS can be a real hoot (and seriously fast) when driven right. Anyone who says MCs are just for girls have not driven an S. They are a driver's car as much as an E30 is. (in stock form far more so)

If you have money to spend, get the Mini, really fun car and the older ones were better than the second generation.

buy 318is, swap in s52 and have change left over.

Depends what you want out of the car, comfy daily driver, track muncher or hidden mod beast? What are you plans? Is this an all cash transaction or are you financing as well??
